Il battesimo del mare: un’esperienza indimenticabile
Anche io, come la maggior parte dei subacquei ho iniziato così. Era l’anno della maturità – 1982 – e con il gruppo di amici eravamo andati a Rodi.
Di tutto avrei pensato tranne che di fare un battesimo subacqueo del mare. Ed invece eccomi lì a bocca aperta al porto di Rodi a leggere un manifesto di un centro immersioni che pubblicizza la possibilità di scoprire le meraviglie del mondo sommerso con l’attrezzatura subacquea!
Da sempre sogno e desiderio. Io ed un mio amico ci iscrivemmo subito per il giorno successivo. L’appuntamento alle 9 al pontile.
Quella notte per la grande eccitazione degli eventi a venire dormimmo pochissimo. Comunque alle 830 eravamo già pronti sul pontile. Ci imbarcammo e durante la navigazione la guida ci fece un briefing sommario su quello che dovevamo sapere e fare. Tutto rigorosamente in inglese. Più o meno capimmo, grazie soprattutto alla gestualità inequivocabile dei segnali manuali subacquei. Appena arrivati sul punto d’immersione ci misero l’erogatore in bocca e via in acqua. Mi ricordo però chiaramente che su una decina di persone che eravamo almeno tre o quattro abbandonarono subito e restarono in barca.
L’esperienza fu veramente indimenticabile e – dopo molti anni e con molta più esperienza – apprezzo ancora di più i fondamentali su cui Orcasub Formentera – oggi – basa la sua attività: il Briefing iniziale. Momento determinante, che viene fatto nella lingua originale del cliente, spiegando chiaramente i seguenti fondamentali argomenti:
- Compensazione.
- Respirazione.
- Segnali manuali subacquei.
- Muoversi sott’acqua.
- Svuotamento maschera.
- Recupero e svuotamento erogatore.
Non serve dilungarsi inutilmente sulla teoria, quindici/venti minuti, sono più che sufficienti. Abbiamo anche un breve video, sempre in lingua originale come supporto didattico.
Secondo Orcasub, è molto importante che il battesimo, almeno per la prima volta venga fatto da terra, partendo dalla spiaggia, cosa che da molta sicurezza a chi è alle prime armi. In questa maniera si ha la possibilità di fare gli esercizi subacquei necessari in non più di un metro d’acqua, rimanendo in ginocchio sul fondo e in caso di qualsiasi problema basta alzarsi in piedi e si è fuori dall’acqua.
Chi preferisce poi gli esercizi li può fare anche in piscina, un ambiente chiuso che trasmette una ancora più sicurezza e tranquillità. Chiaramente, offriamo anche la possibilità di fare il battesimo subacqueo dalla barca e per chi l’ha già fatto è sicuramente più divertente; per esperienza, per chi non lo ha mai fatto, sicurezza, successo e divertimento sono molto più alti partendo dalla spiaggia.
Il battesimo subacqueo del mare è solo un piccolissimo passo verso l’esplorazione e la conoscenza del mondo sommerso. The introductory dive: an unforgettable experience

Esa noche a la gran emoción de los eventos por venir dormía muy poco. Sin embargo en 830 estábamos listos en el embarcadero. Se embarcó y mientras navega por la guía nos dio un resumen de información sobre lo que necesitaba saber y hacer. Todo estrictamente en inglés. Más o menos nos dimos cuenta, gracias a gestos inequívocos de señales de mano bajo el agua. Acaba de llegar en la inmersión llevó el regulador en la boca y en el agua. Recuerdo claramente que sobre una docena de personas que fueron al menos tres o cuatro abandonada inmediatamente y permaneció en el barco.

Según Orcasub, es muy importante eso Bautismo, al menos por primera vez se hizo por tierra, a partir de la playa, que de mucha confianza en aquellos que son principiantes. En esta forma usted tiene la oportunidad de hacer los buzos de ejercicios no necesita más de un metro de agua, permaneciendo de rodillas en la parte inferior y si tienes algún problema a pie y estás fuera del agua.
Aquellos que prefieren los ejercicios los pueden hacer incluso en la piscina, un entorno cerrado que transmite una mayor seguridad y tranquilidad. Claramente, también ofrecemos la posibilidad de realizar el bautismo de buceo desde el barco y para quienes ya lo han hecho es definitivamente más divertido; de la experiencia, para aquellos que nunca lo hizo, seguridad, éxito y diversión son mucho mayores de la playa.
